Professor Dr. Md. Jakir Hossain has been elected as the President of the Jagannath University Teachers’ Association (JnUTA), with Associate Professor Dr. Sheikh Masrick Hasan as the General Secretary for the next one-year term.
Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sogir Hossen Khandaker, the Chief Election Commissioner of the JnUTA election 2024, announced the results on Tuesday. 30 teachers from two panels contested in the election for the 15-member executive committee.
Prof. Dr. Md. Jakir Hossain has been elected as the President, securing 256 votes while on the other hand, securing 257 votes, Associate Professor Dr. Sheikh Masrick Hasan is elected as the General Secretary in the election.
In addition to the elected President and General Secretary, the victorious members of the committee including Associate Vice President Professor Dr. Md. Momin Uddin, Joint General Secretary Associate Professor Dr. Md. Mohsin Reza, and Treasurer Associate Professor Dr. Md. Miraj Hossain.
Furthermore, elected members are Professor Dr. Abul Kalam Mohammad Lutfur Rahman, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abul Hossen, Associate Professor Dr. A. M. M. Golam Adam, Professor Dr. Farhana Jaman, Associate Professor Shamima Akter, Assistant Professor Md Ashraful Islam, Prof. Dr. Aynul Islam, Prof. Dr. Shamsun Nahar, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdullah Mahfuz, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossain.
