The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has appointed Dr. Sheikh Masrick Hasan, the General Secretary of the Jagannath University Teachers’ Association and Associate Professor of Department of Finance, Jagannath University, as one of the independent directors of Meghna Pet Industries Limited, a listed company in the stock market.
Amalendu Mukherjee, former Additional Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division; Shaikh Masrick Hasan, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance at Jagannath University; Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Associate Professor at the Accounting and Information System department at Dhaka University; and M Nurul Alam, chief executive officer of MNA Associates are the newly appointed directors, according to the BSEC letter sent to the company on Thursday.
Dr. Sheikh Masrick Hasan, one of the newly appointed directors, said, “The institution has been closed for a long time due to which the BSEC has given us the responsibility to protect the interests of the institution based on experience and education. We will try to bring back the previous reputation of the company with our management and experienced manpower and our aim is to make the company profitable.”
