Bangladesh national women’s football team cleanly swept away Singapore women’s national football team in the two FIFA tier-1 friendlies after winning the second match by 8-0 goals at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Monday.
Forward Tohura Khatun and midfielder Ritu Porna Chakma scored a brace each in the 16th, 25th minute sand 18th, 62nd minutes respectively while midfielder Sanjida Akhter, forward Sabina Khatun, forward Sumaya Matsushima and midfielder Shamsunnahar contributed a goal each in the 57th, 75th, 87th and 90+1st minutes.
Earlier, the South Asian champions Bangladesh, who are 12-spot behind their Southeast Asian opponents in the current FIFA rankings, won the first game by 3-0 goals at the same venue on Friday.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh beat another Southeast Asian nation Malaysia by 1-0 in their two-match FIFA friendlies last year at the same venue.
Malaysia, who are currently 89th in rankings, suffered a fatal 0-6 goals defeat to hosts in the first game but the second game ended in a goalless draw.
