Police arrest four dacoits in capital’s Turag

Turag police have arrested four robbers, including the leader of a gang, from different places for tying up hands and feet and looting gold and money. 

The arrestees are Iqbal Hossain, Anisur Rahman Ashik, Sajib Mia, and Vishwajit Talukdar Parth. 

After their arrest, a pistol used in the robbery, a machete, a switchblade, a lungi, a cap, a bag, and a gold chain were recovered from them. Two separate cases have been filed at Turag Police Station regarding incidents of robbery in Noyanichala village on February 2 and in Dhaur area on March 3. 

Jyotirmoy Saha Opu, Assistant Police Commissioner of Uttara Zone said that with the help of information technology, the accused were identified and arrested.  Anisur Rahman Ashik and Mohammad Sajib Mia have confessed to their involvement in the crimes and provided valuable information. The three arrested suspects have been remanded in custody after being sent to court. 

It is known that the arrestees not only committed robberies in houses but also carried out robberies on the streets using weapons. Iqbal Hossain, one of the arrestees, is facing multiple cases in various police stations across the country. He is also a wanted accused in Turag and Ashulia Police Stations.
